| For 21-year-old University of Toronto student and Green Party candidate Dylan Marando of Richmond Hill, there is the anxiety of waiting for election results tonight, but he sounds relaxed considering the real pressure he faced this morning in class. While other candidates were pacing their campaign offices awaiting the voters' decision, Mr. Marando was sweating it out writing a test at school. "I am completely exhausted. I had a test on early Christianity this morning and I had another test over the weekend," the Christianity and Culture student said from his home/campaign office. "I am happy that the end has arrived, but I am also happy with the progress my party and I as a person have made in the last few months," he added. The university student, who still lives with his parents, entered the ring with candidates twice his age and some who have been involved in politics before Mr. Marando was born. However, the Green candidate said he is proud of the accomplishments of his campaign team and enjoyed his underdog role. "Most people thought a 21-year-old couldn't make a mark in this riding and we have made our message known," he said. "If I have reached even just 20 people in some way and influenced them to become more environmentally or politically aware, then in some ways that is more important than winning," he added. He did admit his expectations are loftier than just 20 votes and said he is confident he will receive more than 10 per cent of Richmond Hill votes cast.
