The sign at the door said welcome to Maurizio Bevilacqua's victory party and that's exactly what it was.

Mr. Bevilacqua just wrapped up his victory speech at his Woodbridge campaign party.

He thanked supporters for electing him eight times, the last being here in Vaughan tonight.

And though he admitted that the national result wasn't what he hoped, he said the Liberal Party did have a victory in Vaughan.

"There is no reason the Liberals in Vaughan can't enjoy a great victory," Mr. Bevilacqua said.
